What is Oregon2000?

Oregon2000 is the fourth incarnation of Fiat enthusiasts gathering together for a weekend of camping, eating, drinking, talking, and driving Fiats. Or2000 will be the second time the event has coincided with a competition hillclimb event. It is a fabulous opportunity to put internet-names to faces, and immerse yourself in everything Fiat for an extended weekend.

Where is it?

Oregon2000 will take place July 13-16 at the Howard Prairie Lake Resort, about 25 miles east of Ashland, Oregon. As a group, we reserve a lakefront camping area with ample parking and camping sites, with optional cabins and RV sites. For info on the resort, check out this brochure.

What happens there?

Tentative Schedule

This is a proposal for this year’s event. The details are being worked out, and your input is more than welcome. Join the mailing list to be involved (see below).

  • Day One [Thursday]: Caravan with others to Ashland, arrive, unpack.
  • Night One: Auto-Biography, socialize, late arrivals
  • Day Two [Friday]: Morning and afternoon group drives, tech session at mid-day.
  • Night Two: Hangout and B/S about Fiats
  • Day Three: Hillclimb drive/ spectate.
  • Night Three: Awards
  • Day Four: Survivor’s Breakfast, pack up and go home

How do I sign up?

We have established a list of people who are planning on attending, cars they are bringing, etc. Check it out and fill out the form to add yourself to the list.

***Note: Tent spaces are on first-come, first set-up basis within the campsite. But if you plan on renting a cabin at the resort, reservations with the Howard Prairie Resort are required.

How do I get there?

By far, the easiest route is via a caravan with other Fiats. Check the caravan link to see if one is leaving from your area or one you can hook up with en-route.

How do I stay informed?

What do I bring?

The bare essentials are easy:
Be sure your car is in good working order, and other than that you will need only your Enthusiasm and if at all possible, a CB.
(Spares are always an interesting question, but if you have room for a few Spares/Tools, you might just make yourself somebody's best friend!)

The rest depends on your lodging choice.  Some folks will want to look into the 'Prairie Schooner' option for lodging (a cabin arrangement), but the majority of us camp in Tents right at the site.  Common needs include camping equipment (we'll discuss big items like Stoves & BBQ on the list), and food - There are a few nice big supermarkets in Town, so you should be able to do most of your shopping once you arrive.  We also make at least one daily run into town, so don't worry about stocking up for the full four days.

This event has matured/grown over the last few years, and every year is better than the last.
Don't miss it!
