What is Oregon 2003?

Oregon2003 is the seventh incarnation of Fiat enthusiasts gathering for a long weekend of camping, eating, drinking, talking, and driving Fiats. It is a fabulous opportunity to put internet-names to faces, and immerse yourself in everything Fiat for an extended weekend. A featured event will be the Fiat Track Day at a local autosport park.  We did this last year, and Novice/Pro Racers and the Spectators all had a great time.
See the Track Day Registration Page or the Oregon Mailing List for details.

Where is it?

Oregon 2003 will take place July 10-13 at the Howard Prairie Lake Resort, about 25 miles east of Ashland, Oregon. As a group, we reserve a lakefront camping area with ample parking and camping sites, with optional cabins and RV sites. For info on the resort, check out this brochure.

Event Schedule

The weekend remains unstructured, however there is a general overall schedule of events. Although participation is encouraged, remember that you are there to relax and enjoy the cars.

  • Thursday: Caravan with others to Ashland, arrive, unpack, and socialize. Beer Run I.
  • Friday: Group breakfast, then the Track Day at Jackson County Sports Park
  • Saturday: Group Breakfast, possible Tech Sessions, Group Drives to scenic destinations, Beer Run III, Italian Dinner, Awards Ceremony.
  • Sunday: Group Breakfast, leisurely pack up and caravan back home.

How do I sign up?

We have established a registration list of people who are planning on attending, cars they are bringing, etc. Check it out and fill out the form to add yourself to the registration list.

***Note: Tent spaces are on first-come, first set-up basis within the campsite. But if you plan on renting a cabin at the resort, reservations with the Howard Prairie Resort are required.
*Cabin (or 'Schooner') reservations are required in advance, and usually sell out well in advance of the event, so get in touch with Howard Prairie ASAP.

What about the Track Day event?

Based on the success of this event in 2002, we will be hosting another Fiat Track Day at the go-kart track at Jackson County Sports Park, just outside of Medford. This event is open to all Fiat enthusiasts participating in the Oregon2003 event, on a first-come basis, up to 25 drivers. Pre-registration reservations are a must, along with pre-payment of event fees. Click HERE to for details regarding the Track Day.

How do I get there?

By far, the easiest route is via a caravan with other Fiats. Check the caravan link to see if one is leaving from your area or one you can hook up with en-route.

How do I stay informed?

To be involved with the planning for this year’s event, subscribe to the Oregon mailing list. See http://www.mirafiori.com/lists/ for details.

What do I bring?

The bare essentials are easy:
Be sure your car is in good working order, and other than that you will need only your Enthusiasm and if at all possible, a FRS/CB radio.
(Spares are always an interesting question, but if you have room for a few Spares/Tools, you might just make yourself somebody's best friend!)

The rest depends on your lodging choice.  Some folks will want to look into the 'Prairie Schooner' option for lodging (a cabin arrangement), but the majority of us camp in Tents right at the site.  Common needs include camping equipment (we'll discuss big items like Stoves & BBQ on the list), and food - There are a few nice big supermarkets in Town, so you should be able to do most of your shopping once you arrive.  We also make at least one daily run into town, so don't worry about stocking up for the full four days.

This event has definitely matured/grown over the last years, and every event is better than the last.
Don't miss it!
