I bought this car as a bare shell in November '98, it having been previously driven into the ground and then used for spares. The body was basically sound but the paint was completely knackered. Needed a bit of welding in the firewall, so we did that, rebuilt and fitted an engine, gearbox, suspension and interior with spares fom my shed; and resprayed it. Did the lot in less than a fortnight - phew. The car has since done 13000 kms and is going strong. It is used regularly to tow our 14ft sailing skiff, sometimes up to 400km to the coast and back from Canberra. It's great because we can throw heaps of gear in the back. Once I'm back in Hobart, the Recaros will go into the white sedan.....
