Registered August 1978, Colour: Yellow

The car has had 9 previous owners. I bought the car in 2001 from a local guy in Devon, UK. He had bought the car from Cornwall (it was BR green then). He bought another crash damaged red 3P Berlinetta Special and combined the best bits from the two in 1996 and sprayed it blue. The crash damaged car was my Mum’s car from new that she used to take me to school in!

I bought the car after it had been off the road for 8 months. It had repaired accident damage which hadn’t been finished. I got an MOT for the car and left it in my garage for a couple of months until I had finished Uni for the summer.

The 3P provided good service over that summer, ‘til the first week back at Uni when the head gasket went. The garage that repaired it did a bad job and here started the downfall of the engine. Various suspension bits decided to break too.

A ‘new’ engine was fitted in November 2003. The car came off the road for a break at Christmas and was replaced by a Tipo Sedicivalvole. I have a Strada 1500cc engine with a flowed head and X1/9 cam waiting to be fitted. I have up-rated suspension to fit and an original boot spoiler too.

The car drives fantastically when it wants to. Since being laid-up it has started first time every time. I can’t wait to get it back on the road and on the track in the summer!
