Re: FFO in Greensboro next week!

So sorry to miss the FFO gang for the first time in a long time I simply ran out of vacation days this year. Working on a long term plan to have more free time :) I have plenty of Fiats, Lancia and other Italian makes in the garage so I will always be busy but am waiting anxiously to hear where and ...

Re: Argenta Turbo engine bearings?

Clevite has a description on page 15 about the differences between bi-metal (typical/standard bearings) and tri-metal https://www.mahle-aftermarket.com/files/local-media-north-america/pdfs-&-thumbnails/catalogs-and-literature/engine-bearings/eb-20-18.pdf Also I found this article https://www.engineb...

Re: Argenta Turbo engine bearings?

I believe that tri-metal bearings wee used in 132 blocks as used in the volumex cars (i.e. supercharged 2 liter spiders, Argenta, Beta, etc) A quick google search did not turn up vendors that supply these but they are still available for my integrale motors (might be the same since they are based on...

Re: 38mm rear calipers - maybe not my best idea

FYI - it's true that he volumex used the larger rear calipers but the fronts were different from the 85.5 model The volumex front brakes were larger vented discs and fixed caliper mounting with 1 piston each side of the rotor/disc. While the 85.5. did use the larger piston rear caliper and larger fr...

Re: Swapping rear ends

James The spider volumex rear end was a variant of the 132 rear end. The 132 rear end is a lot like the 131 I have a 132 diff I converted (well in the process - still need to weld the relocated brackets you mentioned) of converting for my volumex project. One of the things I discovered is that the 1...

Re: Follow along as I build a 79 Spider

Any thoughts on converting to 12x1.5 studs while you are at it ? I'm into rallying and we're often in a hurry when changing wheels and I'm told that the M12x1.25 fine thread is easier to cross-thread than M12x1.5 so lots of teams use the studs with M12x1.25 screwed into the hub and M12x1.5 and appro...

Re: 85.5 spider engine color?

I'm 99.9% sure that the block on my 85.5 Spider volumex was gray just like any other 124 block I've seen

Even my integrale blocks have been gray

Re: Daydreaming a 2 litre

Fiatrn @cstorry - since Deltas aren't common here, I've never had the chance to ride in one that has had the balancers removed. On Lancisti.net I've read some opinions on them being just as smooth. Where are you that you have such access to Deltas? Want to send me a long block? Ha! I live near Ottaw...
