Re: 1800 head on 2000 FI motor- C.R. bump? Really?

I don’t claim to be an expert on the Fiat engine but am putting what I have experienced out here as my input to the collective knowledge. The 1800 head above was purchased from an individual off of ‘75 or ‘76 Spider as a spare. I have two Spiders that I purchased from original owners. A ‘76 with hea...

[By the way in your list of heads you list this as an 1800 head. In my experience it is not. I have four 2 liter fuel injected engines that have this head.
What Fiat part number do you reference then as the 1800 head with the smaller combustion chambers? 5992129?

Re: 1800 head on 2000 FI motor- C.R. bump? Really?

Stock 1800 head has 49cc chamber and stock 2000 head is 52 or 53cc from memory. I have measured both. Less than 0.5 in compression. Maybe closer to 0.3. Not at home now so cannot consult my calculations. The 2000 head measured, was that a carbureted (4406111) or a fuel injected (5992129)? Fuel inje...

Re: Follow along as I build a 79 Spider

What's strange is there is no definitive lobe on my shaft, the entire far end is the same diameter, just off set from the center line. I plan to keep the mechanical fuel pump since I have a new one already. I just need to make sure the timing is right with this one. --------------------------------...

Re: X19’s and a Yugo at NC Garage

When I talked to Jonathan he indicated that he was ready to start divesting of some of these. Specifically we talked about the two that looked restorable, but I think he would sell any of them except one that he was working on installing a Ford Ecoboost into.
