Re: Removing the entire wiring harness - advice?

Concur, have removed many Fiat harnesses and you should never have to hack up anything to get it out. LABEL EVERY WIRE. Your memory won't work, the wiring diagrams will indicate the wrong color and photos won't be detailed enough. I also label where a harness goes. As you well know, six months from ...

Re: 38mm rear calipers - maybe not my best idea

An Xweb member asked me to pass this on since the use of these rear calipers was discussed at great length. TonyK noted that the lash was different from right to left calipers and had to shim the pads to get it right. I know nothing about this, just passing it on as requested. If you want more discu...

Re: Weber experts!

Why not find the source of the problem rather than butcher the poor carb? My dads Jag XJ6 sedan would run on after being turned off for almost a minute, it was terrible. We were told to run higher octane gas and that solved the problem in that car.

Re: Door alignment on 124 Spider

Where the hinges bolt to the body is adjustable but the hinge also bolts to the inside of the door and that provides a lot of adjustment. Check the door for fatigue cracks where the upper hinge bolts to the door, very common. Yes, I use a jack under the door to support it.

124 coupe/spider/sedan parts books?

Saw this on my craigslist, these appear to be parts manuals and for the price can't be beat. I know nothing about the vendor and have no connection.

Re: Speedo Drive and Internal Drive Gear

Argggh, I think you just tripped over another old wives tail. I too had been led to believe that you had to change the internal gear. But looking at your picture, I think the actual gear differences are in the two gears trapped inside the speedo drive housing. Any chance someone has some spares and ...

Re: Aux and Crankshaft Stuck

If the aux shaft is stuck, I don't see how you can pull it out. You really need to do the reverse turn to get it unstuck.
