128 fender flares

I am in the planning stages of getting my parts acquired for my Fiat 128, I am really interested in wide wheels and flares. Does anyone here recognize this set of flares, and where they can be sourced. This particular 128 carries the look almost to a "T" that I imagined for my car. http://i67.tinypi...

Re: What is your Fiat's idiosyncrasies?

The transmission shifting thing is very common amongst Italian cars. My experience includes Lamborghini Countach, Jalpa, Urraco, Diablo and Ferrari Dino 246, 308, 328, Testarossa, 348, and Modial; all suffered from similar cold natured shifting. After those generations the transmissions changed and ...

Re: Electrical question (OHMS law experts)

I think if you were serious about tackling this, I would figure a way to harness the AC current produced by the alternator and bypass the rectifier bridge in the alternator and regulate that power directly to 110v ac. In that way you would be wasting less power to conversions. I don't know what the ...

Re: Electrical question (OHMS law experts)

I had a 120 watt inverter I used to use to charge my laptop in the car, that is about all it was good for and barely did that. It seems you would be outrunning the ability of the inverter for your given purpose. Keep in mind most conversions of power will at best be at around 80% efficiency, also fo...

Re: New to the forum, introducing me and my rusty 128's

Yeah both cars have rust in the front rails where the sway bar attaches. The green car is actually broken off, if you notice the ratchet strap in the front around the grill area is to hold the sway bar in place while moving it around. I've already considered fabricating some radius rods to get rid o...

Re: Ron's Fiat 500 Sport

At one point I had my eyes set on a Fiat 500 pop that was in a copart salvage auction. The whole car sold for a little over $1000 and would have been the perfect donor for a new modern drivetrain for my 128. Digital fuel injection and a 6 speed manual transmission would have been excellent.

Re: Doing it the wrong way and I'm lucky (NFC)

Not all that uncommon of a long time sitting restart when it comes to a Honda, other brands maybe not so much. If the vehicle had been sitting for 10 years, regardless of the mileage on the timing belt, put one in it. That rubber is so old and dry rotted by now why chance an expensive valve job over...

Re: New to the forum, introducing me and my rusty 128's

I may just leave it mostly as is then. I have the 4-2-1 it was on the 1.3 in my 74, the motor was locked up and not worth rebuilding. Thanks for the advice. Is there a code library of numbers on the trans that may be able to tell me what final drive ration I have in my transmission or do I just need...

Re: New to the forum, introducing me and my rusty 128's

I will for sure check out xweb. Having done the 1500 motor in a 128 already do you find a mostly stock 1500 fine for spirited driving and such or maybe suggest mild mods? I have been thinking of resealing the motor and while I have it apart maybe a small cam and gasket matching ports in head, intake...

Re: New to the forum, introducing me and my rusty 128's

That's why I have 2 of them, I can't see letting them just rust away. For several years I worked on Ferrari and Lamborghini cars every day, I knew I could never afford one. When I saw the first 128 come up I thought it was the coolest little car I've seen and had to have it. That way I could own an ...
