There are defiantly 3 different internal gears inside the transmission. Do not just change the drive, It will not mesh and will eat itself alive.

That's a great offer Randy! Are most of the parts typically needed in a rebuild still available from vendors? yes Autoricambi has everything for sure. Generally syncro's, shift hubs and shift forks. Sometimes a bearing or 2 and a gasket set. Occasionally a gear is needed. if the owner keeps grindin...

For what its worth... who said the perfect cam timing is shown by he cast in factory marks with drilled holes in the pulleys.. just saying .. factory cam timing is closest tot eh mark when timed, be realistic. use a degree wheel and adjustable cam timing wheels to make sure you are getting it correct

taking material off the block increases the quench area. No matter how much you remove from the head that wont increase. The quench area has a lot to do with power

I use regular shims. But i install them with the open end down. that way they cannot fall out. But when everything is tight that wont happen. I do recommend tightening the cross member bolts regularly anyway

fiat used washers / full round shims for alignment purposes. When I rebuild front ends I leave them all off. That way I can get the exact adjustment I want. I have run into a few cars that had to have the washers cut to correct the camber. Mainly because the shock tower has been compromised and has ...
