Re: 75 spider build

Have been coaching football and taking my summer professional development.. Next week I am working in the shop and will set out to figure out the spider. No kids in the summer to distract my thinking and thought process. Has to be something easy. It is defiantly not a mechanical malfunction. Either ...

Re: 75 spider build

Sounds like both dumping too much fuel down #1. Need to baseline and sync carbs and check fuel and air path if that doesn't solve. car was running perfectly for a long time first. carbs had already been synced. I am going to pull the carb and check it. was a busy week with end of school coming and ...

Re: 75 spider build

This issue you have been, were you able to resolve, I'm having something similar happen to my 124, it's running on 3 cylinders, where the number 1 cylinder exhaust header is not hot. Re: Anybody recognize this metal cup?

the metal cup is an addition, not stock, there was a bushing that had a shoulder and a sleeve that went into the rubber bushing in the firewall. What you are missing is the spring. The spring pushes against the "cup" and the rod holding tension towards the engine and keeping the throttle rod in place.

Is the booster hose connected? If not, and it goes to port #1, then that port will have a huge vacuum leak.
I did check that by disconnecting the booster and blocking off the port. It is a new booster but still checked.

Re: 75 spider build

wet with fuel. I did not test either plug outside the engine. I figured changing the entire set of plugs and the same issue most likely would not be a bad plug in the same hole again. If a bad plug is the issue. I will check it outside the engine for posterity anyway tomorrow.
