Re: Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

Thanks for the new info, I'm not sure I ever saw the pistons being addressed as part of the disabling of the choke in any of the articles I read, they all seen to say remove the choke housing and replace it with a plate. Just when I thought there was no more to try, to do, and to learn  As ...

Re: Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

So my fellow Fiat Club members that have driven behind me will no longer be able to complain about the fumes - excellent :D . I have had this rich issue for the longest time, perhaps it will now be over. I assume I'll get a little bet MPG as well. As for roller type carburator, my carbs have rods wi...

Re: Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

SteveC - are the plungers that you are referring to the two tubes that spring up and down within the choke assembly. If so, I have the chokes disabled/blocked off with plates. Should the plungers still be an issue, if so, how exactly do I disable them, plug them?

Above you mention the air bleed screws in the same context as mixture screws. Which are you talking about? Air bleed screws balance the carburetor barrels, mixture screws control the flow of fuel at idle speed.
Idle mixture screws - not air bleed that are all the way in and balanced

Re: Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

That's strange, I would think leaner idle jets would require you to open the mixture screws more, not close them down. In any event, I will curious to see how this kit works. For best lean idle with 50 jets I have to screw the mixtures screws all the way in, where as I understand it, a correct sett...

Re: Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

I found out about this "upgrade" by reading about it in a book they published about Webber carbs. They also allude to increasing performance across the entire RPM band. I cant find any other reference to it on the Interwebs. The "upgrade" costs $120 bucks. For me it might be worth is as the 00 jets ...

A welder in Russia makes about $15K/year.
And they use melamine impregnated tubing from China! Seriously, this cheap. The only problem is getting Russia Post to deliver. I ordered something from them 2 months ago and am still waiting for it to be released from customs.

Getting rid of auxiliary venturis

Any one have experience with this update kit for the IDFs? Its supposed to get rid of the auxiliary venturi and provide flow benfits, like getting rid of the transition stumble.
