Re: Selling Holley 5200's

I copied and pasted the email you provided. Holley had the license from Weber and made them for Motorcraft. As far as fitment, I'm not sure if they will fit a 1600 manifold, you might have to research that.

Cutting off the mech fuel pump lobe, so this is my electric alternative.

Re: Semi race motor advice

Thanks for all the replies! I'll just measure one of the old guides and use that as a "guide". :D I can mark all the new ones and press them in to that depth. Do you guys freeze them, lube them, both? I also got an 8mm flex hone to cross hatch them a bit for better oil retention as suggested in GC's...

Re: Semi race motor advice

Is there a rule of thumb when replacing valve guides as far as depth? Got new guides from AR and an 8MM removal/install tool, but I can't find any mention of how far to seat them in the shop manual or CG's book. I can measure the stock iron ones, but I know that bronze can sometimes have a different...

Re: Follow along as I build a 79 Spider

Finally got my plugs, had to order them since no one had 7/16 x 14 in stock. Nice fit with room to stake them in place. BTW, if anyone is planning to do this let me know. I had to order 10 plugs, but only needed 4.

Happiness is a floor full of new parts. First shipment is in. And no the nitrous isn't for the Fiat.....maybe :o
The 2 long boxes are the cams, wasn't going to take them out for a picture though.

Re: Industrial space for shop / garage

Plus, if you get in good with them they might let you do some " testing" on the taxiways ;)

Re: Industrial space for shop / garage

Just throwing it out there, but if there is a small local airport nearby, check with them. They sometimes have old smaller hangers that aren't being used and will rent fairly cheap.

Re: Follow along as I build a 79 Spider

Any thoughts on converting to 12x1.5 studs while you are at it ? I'm into rallying and we're often in a hurry when changing wheels and I'm told that the M12x1.25 fine thread is easier to cross-thread than M12x1.5 so lots of teams use the studs with M12x1.25 screwed into the hub and M12x1.5 and appr...
