Re: The State of Italian Car Design

Fiat design ceased when Cesare Romiti fired Vittorio Ghidella, the last car guy to run Fiat. After that Fiat was in steady slide downhill.

Re: Swapping rear ends

Jim Aren't the early axles lighter too? I wonder if that helps handling.

You know current racing is boring when....

Autoweek talks about the fist fight at the 1979 Daytona 500 and yet another , Group B video.

Maybe Racing has run it's course and there is nothing new to report. "My computer is better than yours" yawn ...

Thank God MotoGP still thrills. Anyone see the race Sunday? I needed a drink afterwards.

Re: Front Spindle Question.

I was led to believe that you want the lower control arm horizontal and not angling up from the chassis mounting point to the hub. Correct but when you install lower springs that is what happens. Thanks Richard for sharing. I'm still sad they retired the Concorde. Someone said it was a step back in air travel. The plane was flawed but I think it always represented the future of more to come.

Re: How are new spider sales doing?

Sorry didn't mean to pick on the marketing guys but they seem so boring now. I believe the later Vipers had slow sales due to the new at the time C7 Corvette. All I'm trying to say is that the original 124 spider in 1967 was special. Twin cam, 5 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes plus lovely styling and tha...

Re: How are new spider sales doing?

I agree, FCA targeted the wrong group. Every one likes the idea of a small light weight sports car but no one really wants to buy one. Toyota and Subaru found that out the hard way with the BRZ. What FCA should have done was shoehorned the Pentstar motor in the new spider. Instant Halo car and stree...
