U-joint steering shaft

Post by magnus » Wed Sep 11, 2019 5:56 am

Hi,
I need to change a u-joint on my steering shaft. Replacement joints seem to available on the internet. At least one set comes with locking circlips. When I take a closer look at the joint I can´t figure out how it´s secured to the shaft. There doesn´t seem to be any locking circlip and it looks like there is some sort of cover on the needle bearing cap. I anyone out there familiar with the procedure?

I do not think a low velocity joint like that will need too much to hold it in check. FIAT shop manual simply says to inspect the u-joint and replace if necessary.
