I was dubious at first but I think the pink really suits that car. If I wasn't half way around the world I'd consider buying it.

Miss Pinky was a 5-speed as I recall. John did build up a spider for Laura later with an auto and was not pink but she and the auto spider eventually moved to Florida.

Real life story. Back in the day Bruces Parts Bin would host a Spookout around Halloween and many of us in the DC area would attend the open house. I agreed to hook up with Laura as part of the DC area caravan and she said to meet her on the side of the DC beltway. Sure enough, I'm hauling around the beltway and see a pink spider with Laura in a clown suit parked on the shoulder of the interstate. The intelligent part of my brain said "keep driving, don't even look her way" but the Fiat part of my brain said "pull over and let's get this over with"....which of course I did.

Yes Carl, you remember correctly, it was a 5 speed.

I know this very well, because we were in the Delker's car following Laura, somewhere
in Virginia I think, and she couldn't get the car up over 25 mph going uphill.

Nobody ever taught her to downshift, until that trip. Maybe it was you ;)

I would have been too shocked to say that to her, it was probably Erskine. That second photo of her car was at my house, I was fixing something on her car....to this day some neighbors still remember that "pink sports car".
