Getting out of FIATs

Post by bark » Thu Mar 29, 2018 10:12 am

Hi folks, well, this is a preliminary heads up to say I've decided to liquidate my stash of greasy Italian aluminum. I just don't have time or the correct infrastructure to do it justice right now. So watch this thread for a nice Spider 2000, a cool little 128 sedan, a Pininfarina hardtop, a fine set of Campy four spokers, and all the flotsam and jetsam of a twenty year dive into FIATs. Sigh...man, this is hard.

Sorry to hear that. I went through a similar thing a few years ago after my son died. I think everything went into a different perspective. Interestingly, a series of events strung together in the last 3 or so year sort of led me back to dust off my interest & bring back the muscle memory of tuning carbs, timing, etc. it's just stuff though & the people & the relationships are what matters. I wish you luck & peace with it all & who knows, maybe you'll have a change of heart.

I'd love the hardtop, but WI is pretty far from TN...

I'd love the 128 too, but I need to just look away.....

I did this for a while. Eventually I went insane again.

That 128 might be interesting to have, shoot me an email

In that case, you could drop the hardtop off in TN for me on the way home.

That said, maybe setting the Fiats & associated gear aside a bit is a better idea, from experience.

Say it ain't so, Shane!!! Say it ain't so.......

Honestly, I'm right behind you. I'm getting too old for this. I think 72 is a decent cut off age....

I think a 124 hardtop is too wide for a 128 in any direction!

bark,

I might be interested in the hardtop and could be swinging through Wisconsin this October (in the Fiat!). Still have it?
