Carl's spider still for sale at reduced price $3,500

Post by friedman » Fri Apr 20, 2018 5:34 pm

The Craigslist crowd didn't bight at $ 4,500 (and neither did you guys). BAT wasn't interested in listing my car and I need to sell it.

$3,500 gets you a 1980 spider with:
rebuilt motor with 4mm pistons and new clutch kit
WHOA front brakes
four Koni red shocks
new AR sport exhaust
new top
new tires on 14X6 minilite clones
Auto Power roll bar
Parrish hard top
Mechanically car is top notch. Interior good. Body has tired paint and needs some bondo work. Rust not really an issue. I got plenty more pictures if you want to see them.

Goes back on Craigslist soon with the brakes and rollbar removed for the same price.

email me, call me, show up at my front door, do something.

carl...just a tad desperate

They were not very specific, they give you a list of possible reasons none of them mentioned as specific to my car. Sorry, that's the best answer I can give.

Yes, my wife and I picked up the Spider Saturday and I drove it home 300 miles with some horrible traffic. It took 8 hours! The car was a blast to drive, top down most of the way until we hit a cold front and the temps dropped. I waited until I got close to home to punch it. It pulls really fine, much stronger than my old stock '79. It was nice to meet Carl and see his X1/9 projects.

The car passed NYS inspection Monday and we've already had compliments on the car. A brand new Aston Martin parked next to it and the owner was excited to check the Fiat out. Apparently it reminded him of an old MG he used to have.

It is great to back in a Spider. Thanks Carl. And thanks to my wife Rita for going for this and helping me pick it up.

Excellent. My daughters are always telling me how I raised them wrong but at least I get the Fiats right!
