This is great...now I definitely don't want a hardtop :)

—The factory hardtop is both very distinctive and very rare. So rare in fact, they are serialized!

—It does seem possible to install the Pininfarina top with the rear of the soft top detached and rotated forward, and while that doesn’t seem practical to me, I’ve always been more concerned with the weight penalty of having both tops installed simultaneously. Both tops are quite heavy.

—If I were to consider it, and had storage space available, I would prefer Pinin top alone in the winter, and ragtop all summer. :)

--Congratulations Steve! Someone is a lucky new owner!

-- Is there any chance you have a picture of the headliner of the Pininfarina top? And, is the headliner original design? Thanks!

--My Pinin top never had a headliner, and I don't know what an original headliner looks like? I just have glue residue where some kind of headliner used to be attached. I may just sand and paint what I have. The top, as is, already provides a significant noise reduction over a ragtop.... :)

I've seen a few of those Spiders with the piece that goes down the sill panels. I guess this was something you could buy from the dealer?
