alloy wheels for '72 124 coupe

Post by RicardoIII » Sat Jan 27, 2018 1:49 pm

I'm finally getting my '72 coupe back from the body/paint shop next week and want to know what my choices are for some alloy wheels that fit the car within the following parameters.
1) Without modifications while remaining under the stock fenders.
2) No wider than 6" given that the originals are 5 1/2"
3) Cromodora pentastars would be my first choice but they're rarer than hen's teeth
4) Panasports are also a favorite but the 98 mm spacing is a real stumbling block
Last time I posted this query--several months ago--one person contacted me and then disappeared. I'm hoping for better luck this time around with either offers to sell or to help.
You can respond to this thread or to my private email which is: landeira at colorado dot edu.
Thank you all in advance.

This is the BWA Roadstar wheel, not actual wheels plus no center caps

The usual go to wheel is the alloy iron cross that was fitted to a billion spiders and Xs. They are 13x5.5. 14" opens a few more options such as the turbo wheels that came on many spiders or even Maserati Biturbo wheels.

The vendors carry some pretty nice aftermarket wheels. If you are looking for wheels that need refurbishment PM me, I have quite a few.

joe,
not too fond of the four spoke version though yours certainly look very nice. I assume they're the 4x98mm pattern. Can you provide dimensions, including offset? I live in Longmont CO 80504, wonder what shipping would be.
thx

The original steel wheels were 5" wide. I know several coupe owners running 15x7 wheels, like these:
