Composite material 124 Spider hood/deck panels

Post by SimcaBertone66 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 11:00 am

I could kick myself for not buying some "cheap" a well used set of hood/trunk lid in glasfibre from Matt Brannon
I want to put the race car on a serious weight reduction program... any ideas ?? suggestions, possible source for having some made, try to fabricate myself ... what do you all think ?

All for the plan to attempt to lap Limrerock as fast as the MX5 Global cars did this year at the Pirelli World Challenge series this May, in a 40 year Fiat built in my garage ... there I feel better.... I have a clearly stated goal

If you are keen to make your own here is a Youtube tutorial from Easy Composites on how to make a Carbon fibre panel from start including making the mould to finish (if you wanted to go fibreglass the process would be pretty much the same just lay the fibreglass instead of the carbon fibre). It's a three part tutorial here are the links to them. It doesn't seem that hard.

Good luck

Brady runs facebook group everything fiat 124 and has been making some damn impressive carbon fiber parts. I know he has a battery cover, rally hood and front spoiler that he makes and sells. Check him out...

Hi Carl,

Brady usually shuts down his fabrication during the winter due to the cold weather.
