Il Giro di Phoenix rally 2018

Post by AZRuss124 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:09 pm

Time for the annual semi-sports car rally. This is the only organized quasi-Italian car event each year. It is open to one and all and many show up in their daily drivers. Normally 2 to 3 124s. May even see an 850 spider this year. Would love to see all the locals show up.

John Demar and I decided to forego the scavenger hunt and just do a drive to Bartlett lake. I laid out a route that skipped freeways. We got to Bartlett lake so late that we had to take some freeway on the way back. It was great fun as the curvy road to the lake was basically absent of cars with a lot of bicycles coming the other way. Just outside of Cave Creek we ran on to an early 50s series thunderbird and an old 300sl convertible. We ran with them until they the existed with a hardy wave into a housing development. Too bad they didn't run to the lake with us.
