Here's my 1980 Fiat spider 2000, new to this forum :)

Post by QuebecFiatSpider » Fri Feb 23, 2018 6:18 am

Hi Guys, I just discovered this forum few days ago. Seems to be a great forum with great valuable informations :)

I Purchased my Fiat last summer (2017), it is my first Italian car and I really like it up to now. Since it is my nature to always restore and improve my toys (Mostly on motorcycles up to now) I'm now improving the engine bay of my Fiat as a first project phase...:)

So here it is and also where I stand in my project :)

If I may ask a technical question: Is it possible to replace both engine mounts without removing the engine form the engine bay? Did some of you has accomplished this?

Nice looking spider. Yes the two motor mounts can be replace with the engine in place. Tricky to get the motor high enough as the transmission bell housing with hit the firewall if lifted too much. The trick is to do one at a time and tilt the motor to the left or right to remove each mount and insert the new one.

Quebec, I really like the look of your tire/rim combo.

Would you mind posting a a few pictures that show them off a little better, as well as the tire size?

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that particular rim before. It seems unlikely that I’ve never seen them, given the hundreds of FIAT pictures I’ve looked at over the years. I guess I’ve just never noticed.

Very cool

I'll second that, never seen those wheels before. They are nice looking.
