Early Spider Door

Post by fp55scca » Tue May 15, 2018 2:25 pm

--I'm in need of an early Fiat 124 Spider driver's side door. Specifically, driver's door for a 1972 Fiat 124 Spider. Sadly, my neighbor backed into my restored 1972 Fiat Spider. "Give me the strength to change....and accept those things I cannot....and the wisdom to know the difference"?

--I believe that AS through BS1 (1968 - 1972) are the same. The latching mechanism on the early door is attached with 4 screws. Beginning in 1973, the same latch mechanism is shorter and attached with 3 screws.

--I have a couple of options, but they both need rust repair. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of race season, and don't have time for this project. :(

--I know this request is a long shot, but any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your car. I happen to have a door off of a 1971 that I was going to use on my 1977. As it turns out the latch position changed somewhere along the line and the 71 door won't work on a 77. So here I sit with an extra driver side door and no need for it. It's in nice shape with no visible rust. Shoot me a fair offer and cover shipping and it's yours. I'll strip all the bits and glass off of it to reduce the weight. I think a door shell is about 35 lbs or so. I'm located in Brandon SD, 57005

Jim , if that does not work out, I have a 72 door ...it's stripped (no vent, I think the glass is out, mechanism in tact, hinges fine....I had begun prepping it to use on my 74 way back in 1999 until I realized the difference between BS & CS doors. Being a little lighter & without a vent window it may be simpler option to ship. If the other doesn't work out or you want this one, just shoot me an email.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

--Oh my goodness, thank you Alex and Chris! These look like two excellent offers!! At present, I only need a door shell...no vent frame and glass, or door glass. This should help reduce shipping weight as well.

--Alex and Chris, I'll need to estimate shipping from SD and TN respectively! I may need an address of origin to do that. Could you guys please send me an address to my email ? : Jfscuria@msn.com

--Many thanks for you replies!
