Would you 205/60r13 or 185/70r13 on 13x6 wheel ?

Considering there are vastly more options for tires in the 185/70 size, would you get them for a 13x6 wheel (ET13), or would you bite the bullet and opt for the limited availability of 205/60's (seems there is a ProMeter LL600, BFG Radial T/A, and the Vredestein tires currently available in that size).

--Shawn, the 205/60 is better suited for the 13x6 wheel. In comparison, the 185/70's are pizza-cutters. Just a shame there are so few 205/60's available. For all around driving, the BFG T/A is a good choice; but if you only drive in the warmer months, go ahead a live a little, and get the Toyo Proxes RA1's. :)

Ditto, I think you'll be happy with spending the few extra bucks on the 205/60-13's.

Really depends on which car and your style of driving. If all summer driving with hard canyon carving, you'll really want the 205/60's. If you drive year round including rain or snow on highways and crowded parking lots, the 185/70 will be a lot easier turn in and highway cruising. The 185 is still available with some variation in type also...

It will be fair weather driving only, no rain. I am pretty well settled on a set of the Vredestein Sprint Classics in the 205/60r13 size. :) I like the vintage look of them, they will go well with the wheels I am getting.

I ran Sumitomo 205/60R-13s for 10 years until they got so hard they flat-spotted. These were on CD-39 wheels which are 6" wide.

Even when new, they were pretty high-effort. I do have a small steering wheel, though.

Recently I replaced them with Barum Brilliantis 2 tires on the same wheels. These are made by a subsidiary of Continental in E. Europe. $41 each from Discount Tire.

Needless to say these are not an autocross tire, but they look fine, steer easily and have a pretty soft ride.

You have the 185/70r13 in the Barum? Any photos of a before with the 205's and after with the Barums? Thanks!

I wouldn't hesitate running either on a 6" rim. The 205/60s have a smaller diameter than stock. Ran them on a Spider and a Scorpion many years ago on 5.5" rims. The 185/70s are taller and close to stock diameter.
I have 185/60-13s on a set of 13x6 Campys I use on my X1/9s and 850 Spider and they fit just fine.

I pulled the trigger on some 205/60r13 Vredestein Sprint Classics. Looks like they are 1.4mm shorter in diameter than the stock tires. :)
