Removing plate in glove box cover

I have a 79 Spyder, how do you remove the ugly plate on the glove box door without any damage to the finish? Is it held with tape ?

Try with fishing line behind it.

Ugly? It's "classic"

If you don't have fishing line try dental floss.

Preheat with a hair dryer. I love that badge on the glove box, but to each their own...
